Summary:
Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Instruction, the Dean for Learning Enhancement and College Readiness is responsible for providing administrative leadership and supervision for the academic disciplines of developmental Math (<100 level), developmental English (<100 level), the Intensive English Institute, Reading, and Personal Development. This position also leads the College Readiness program for the Instruction unit, assumes primary responsibility for facilitating initiatives that bridge non-credit Adult Education students to credit instruction, and provides leadership and supervision for the Learning Enhancement Center. Responsibilities for this position include budgeting, course and program scheduling, faculty and staff selection, orientation and evaluation of staff and faculty, curriculum and program development, and overall supervision of the division.
Minimum Qualifications:
Master's degree in related field required.
Minimum three years of experience in higher education at the administrative level required. Comparable professional experience in the private or public sector may be considered.

Summary: The Faculty, Pre-Curriculum Studies provides for designing and implementing learning strategies for students; developing course syllabi and instructional materials; maintaining instructional records; student recruitment, advisement and retention; developing and evaluating courses, programs and services; participating in College activities and committees; and other duties which support the mission and initiatives of the College and the School of Foundational Studies and Academic Support. This nine-month faculty position reports to the Associate Dean, School of Foundational Studies and Academic Support and is available in August 2012.
Instructional duties will include delivery of pre-curriculum courses in Mathematics. Additional responsibilities include collaboration with all faculty and staff from the other DCCC schools of learning concerning students’ proficiencies for beginning credit level work within those schools.
Qualifications Required:
- Master’s Degree from a regionally accredited institution and 18 graduate hours in Mathematics
- Skill in the use of computers, MS Office and commitment to use of technology in instruction
- Experience with online instruction &/or course management systems

TUTORIAL COORDINATOR
Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Identify, recruit, hire and train tutorial staff to work with student-athletes; coordinate supervision and maintain an evaluation process conducted by students and peers.
- Process feedback concerning tutors and tutorial sessions and communicate pertinent information to the appropriate academic counselor; evaluate and provide annual performance reviews for all members of the tutorial staff.
- Schedule tutorial appointments and supplemental instruction sessions.
- Coordinate submission and completion of all Human Resources and work related paperwork.
POSITION SUMMARY: Responsibilities for the Tutorial Coordinator include facilitating the tutorial and supplemental instruction sessions for all student-athletes. These duties include all hiring, training and evaluating of tutorial staff as well as timely scheduling of all appointments to support student-athlete success in the classroom. The position will work closely with each member of the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes staff of academic counselors who are required to coordinate services for the respective students. General supervision will be provided by the Director of the Academic Support Program for Student-Athletes. The program is located in the Center for Student Success and Academic Counseling within Undergraduate Education in the College of Arts and Sciences. Evening and weekend work is required.

GENERAL DESCRIPTION
Santa Rosa Junior College is seeking an individual with demonstrated instructional skills to join an outstanding team of faculty and instructional administrators to provide high quality services to our district, our community, and most importantly to our students. This is a full-time, regular contract position, located at the Petaluma Campus, beginning Fall Semester, August 2012. Appointment is contingent upon funding and Board approval.
DEPARTMENT DESCRIPTION
The College Skills/Tutorial Department offers developmental math, reading, and writing classes, most of which include computer-assisted instruction. The department also runs the Santa Rosa and Petaluma Tutorial Centers. In addition, the department provides noncredit, open-entry English and bilingual Spanish basic skills labs and classes on both campuses and the Southwest Santa Rosa Center.
CAMPUS DESCRIPTION
The Santa Rosa Junior College Petaluma Campus currently enrolls nearly 6,000 students in credit and non-credit courses day and evening classes. Each semester students enroll in approximately 375 course sections in sixty disciplines, including all the courses necessary for transfer to UC, CSU, and completion of the SRJC general education requirements. A second phase of new construction for the Petaluma Campus was completed in 2008, and a third phase of construction completed in 2009 renovated the original campus. New facilities included life sciences labs, a second art studio, physical science and chemistry/physics labs, a new 45,000 square foot library, a physical fitness center, a bookstore, student services and support areas (including student health services, student life and leadership, admissions and records, counseling, disabled student services, tutorial center, and career/transfer center), expanded dining space, classrooms/technology labs, faculty/administrative offices, digital media lab, and a nearly 300-seat auditorium with some of the best media technology in the district. The campus offers state-of-the-art technology throughout, including a wireless network, fully mediated instructional facilities, and video-conferencing capabilities. The campus is eventually expected to accommodate approximately 12,000 students. This beautiful campus is located 35 miles north of San Francisco and 17 miles south of Santa Rosa.
POSITION DESCRIPTION
The College Skills Math/Tutorial Instructor position has the following responsibilities:
• Teach arithmetic and pre-algebra classes
• Supervise and coordinate Petaluma Tutorial Center staff and operations
• Oversee College Skills departmental operations at the Petaluma Campus
• Participate in department and college professional service
• Act as liaison with Santa Rosa Campus
• Develop curriculum, including online courses
SRJC offers courses at the Santa Rosa and Petaluma Campuses, at the Southwest Center, and in online formats as well. While this assignment is primarily for the Petaluma Campus, please note that the District reserves the right of assignment to any location, and that assignments could involve any combination of day or evening classes with mandatory weekly Student Consultation Time. Instructors assume responsibility for maintaining currency in the field and for updating existing courses and developing new curricula; participating in the assessment of student learning outcomes; managing labs and Tutorial Centers; and participating in community outreach on behalf of the College.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required:
Master’s degree in any Social Science, Humanities (including Foreign Languages), Mathematics, or Natural Science, or Liberal Studies; OR Master’s Degree in Education with coursework in Reading, Math or English as appropriate for the course; OR the equivalent; OR a fully satisfied (life) California Community College Instructor’s Credential in Basic Education. Requires a sensitivity to, and understanding of, the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, disability, and ethnic backgrounds of community college students.

COMPENSATION PACKAGE
• Starting Salary Range: $53,938 - $76,871 per year (2011/12 Faculty Salary Schedule - the rates on this schedule include a 2.116% pay reduction and a 1.13% furlough). Teaching experience, other related professional experience, and academic degrees determine salary placement on a schedule that is competitive with other California Community Colleges.
• Benefits: The District offers a competitive health and benefit package for employees and eligible dependents.
• Leave/Holiday time: Full-time faculty members earn one day of sick leave for each month worked.
